A disc falls from the sky and, in Africa, a boy, Kofi, is born.
On the very same day, in America another boy is born. His name is Jesse.
These two are destined to meet and forge a friendship that will shake the world.
Kofi is keeper of the disc, but only when he and Jesse meet are they able to begin their quest to unlock the earth-changing powers hidden in it.
Their quest leads them to all corners of the world and into the most astounding of adventures..
The main characters:
Kofi, born in Africa, is left abandoned on the night of his birth, as his mother dies. He is raised by a group of apes and becomes leader of the pack. At the age of five he is rescued by an Imam and from there on, living on his wits, he survives in the wilds of the African jungle, learning from and adoring his beloved Imam father, becoming leader of a tribe of cannibals and bravely guarding the talisman. He is clever, astute—having had to survive in the most hostile of worlds, loyal and wise beyond his years, courageous and is driven by innate of justice and right.
Jesse, who was born in the States to the computer giant Everett Tierfelder, is inspired by his mother to have a deep concern for the preservation of the planet and, with a mother dying of cancer, is determined to do everything in his power to save her. Both boys are dreamers and somehow they know they are destined to meet. They develop a deeply moving and profound friendship and together, using Jesse’s and his father’s knowledge of computing, they unlock massive cleansing powers of the disc (the talisman) and save Jesse’s mother from death.
